These tablets are used to measure chlorine levels. Too little chlorine can result in water borne illnesses, while too much can result in injury. DPD 1 measures free/ active chlorine levels. To use these, you add DPD 3 to the same sample as DPD 1, and this tells you the total chlorine levels.
